An industry veteran of 20+ yrs, a pro, experienced, disciplined and wonderful working VO actress: Meet KAY BESS! Her tagline is “Exceptional Voice-Over” and being that she's sustained a career and has credits to match, that's true.
In this episode, we learn how Kay has been in the biz for 20 years, but still is evolving and expanding. Promo and commercial VO has been her staple, but how does it change with gaming VO? What about singing? We also talk about competition today, what she has seen change in her own business VO slice of pie, “survival” skill sets for VO, and how we VO actors are tribal people… We create community!! Kay Bess is an American voice actress with over 20 years experience. Kay is the female voice of The Tennis Channel, the female imaging voice for Q107 Toronto, and narrated the insanely popular TV series The Property Brothers on HGTV, seasons 1-4. She was the female voice of DIRECTV from 2009-2013. She's voiced hundreds of TV and radio commercials including most recently McDonald's, Barilla Pasta, Hidden Valley Ranch, Intuit, Kaiser Permanente, Apple Computers, Jergen's, Toyota, Hyundai, Big O Tires, and more. She's done promos for CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Comedy Central, The Disney Channel, and CTV News Canada. She has narrated documentaries airing on HGTV, Discovery, WE, E! and Learning Channel.
